When hiking, it is important to take a few breaths every few minutes in order to stay hydrated and oxygenated. When hiking uphill, you will need to take more breaths than when hiking downhill. When ascending a hill, try to take deep breaths and hold them for two seconds before exhaling. On the descent of a hill, try to inhale deeply and then exhale slowly.
