There are a few potential reasons why someone might feel sick after a hike. One possibility is that the person became overheated or dehydrated during the hike, which can lead to feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and nauseous. Another possibility is that the person got bitten by an insect while hiking, which can cause an allergic reaction that results in nausea and vomiting. Finally, some people may experience something called “post-hike syndrome” after completing a strenuous hike; this refers to symptoms such as fatigue, muscle aches and pain, headache, and difficulty sleeping that can last for several days following the hike.
